Since the Premier League was rebranded in the 1992/93 season, the details of each of the Premier League winning seasons Man United won will not exceed the 92/93 season in this article.

Manchester United, from the 92/93 season the Premier League was rebranded, won a total of 13 Premier Leagues, details of which are given below.

1992/93 Premier League Title

As the league was rebranded to the Premier League, this season became very significant to the club after winning the inaugural Premier League title which also ended a 26-year English League title drought. 

In the 42-game season, Man United won the league ahead of Aston Villa with a 10-point gap winning 24 games in the league. 

The league was officially won after fellow title contenders Aston Villa lost to Oldham Athletic. New signing Eric Cantona, as well as Mark Hughes, Ryan Giggs and Steve Bruce, were key players who ensured United’s 92/93 Premier League triumph.

1993/94 Premier League Title

Manchester United came into the 93/94 season as defending champions and aimed at winning it again. 

Eric Cantona’s second season at the club was better than the first, securing the FIFA Player of the Year after netting 25 goals in the season. 

United had a very dominant season in which they topped the league from the first month of the season to the very end with an 8 points gap against fellow contenders Blackburn Rovers.

1995/96 Premier League Title

The first game for the Red Devils was on the 19th of August 1995 in a disappointing 3-1 loss at Aston Villa. A loss which attracted criticism and backlash to the young players. 

The team began to regain its form after the return of Eric Cantona, Steve Bruce, Peter Schmeichel etc. Eric Cantona only went from strength to strength as he won the FWA Player of the Year award. 

United spent the majority of the season in second place but won the league in the last game of the season against Middlesbrough.

1996/97 Premier League Title

United’s 96/97 season started on the 17th of August 1996 in a 3-0 win against Wimbledon with goals coming from Cantona, Irwin and Beckham. They topped the league from 29th January and held on to the top spot til the end of the season with a 7 points gap at the top of the table. 

New signing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had one of the best debut seasons in the EPL after he scored 18 league goals which made him the club’s top scorer in the season. 

Eric Cantona surprisingly announced his retirement from football, leaving Old Trafford as a 4-time Premier League winner.

1998/99 Premier League Title

Another hugely significant season for United as they became the first English side to win the treble (Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup). 

United’s season began on the 15th of August 1998 when they had to settle for a hard-fought 2-2 draw at home to Leicester City. Man United finished 4th in the first half of the season heading into January with 3 losses but went unbeaten in the second half of the season. 

United secured the title on the final day of the season following a 2-1 win at home to Spurs. 

David Beckham finished the season as the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year and was ranked second in the 1999 Ballon d’Or award.

1999/00 Premier League Title

Man United started the season on a high, going unbeaten in the first 9 matches of the season. 

The 99/00 season is regarded as one of the best seasons Man United had under Sir Alex Ferguson after winning the league with 91 points, 18 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal and a total of 97 goals scored in the league that very season. 

Dwight Yorke finished as United’s top scorer in the league with 20 goals.

2000/01 Premier League Title

In the 2000/01 season, Manchester United 3-peated the Premier League meaning they won it for the third consecutive year becoming the first English team to achieve the feat. 

They won the Premier League with utter dominance, topping the league from October till the final day of the season.

2002/03 Premier League Title

Man United’s first game of the 02/03 season was on the 17th of August 2002 in a 1-0 win against West Brom, the only goal coming from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. 

United started leading on the Premier League table in April and secured the title in May ahead of the closest rivals Arsenal by 5 points.

2006/07 Premier League Title

United won their ninth Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2006/07 season. The United players displayed a whole new level of domination after 8 players were picked in the 2007 PFA Team of the Year.

The first game of the season came in a 5-1 win against Fulham. United won the league with 89 points, giving second-place Chelsea 6 points gap.

2007/08 Premier League Title

United had a hard-fought Premier League triumph in the 2007/08 season in a 3-team title race also involving Chelsea and Arsenal. The Premier League winner was determined on the final day of the season in which Man United beat Wigan 2-0 to secure the title with 87 points. 

Cristiano Ronaldo kept on flying high. He secured 31 league goals that won him the Golden Boot and 42 goals in all competitions.

2008/09 Premier League Title

Manchester United set a new record after becoming the only team to win 3 consecutive Premier League titles (2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09) on two different occasions. 

The 08/09 title was secured in a 0-0 draw at Arsenal on 16 May 2009. This was also Cristiano Ronaldo’s final season at Old Trafford which he signed out with 18 league goals and 26 in all competitions.

2010/11 Premier League Title

On August 26 2010, United started their Premier League campaign in a 3-0 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford. 

Dimitar Berbatov’s total of 20 league goals were vital for securing United their 19th Premier League title. 

Also, in the 10/11 season, Sir Alex Ferguson became the longest-serving manager in Manchester United’s history surpassing Sir Matt Busby. 

United ended the season as Premier League Champions with 80 points, 9 points behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

2012/13 Premier League Title

The 2012/13 season is a very significant season in Manchester United’s history as they won a league record 20th Premier League title. 

It also marked the end of the managerial career of Man United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson after 27 years at the club who also won a league record of 13 Premier League titles for a manager.

The season kicked off on 20 August 2012 in a 1-0 defeat at Everton. Not the perfect start Man United would’ve wished for but they finished the season with 28 wins, winning the league with an 11 points gap ahead of Man City in second place. 

Ferguson’s final game as United’s manager came in a 5-5 draw at West Brom after which David Moyes was appointed as Man United’s new head coach for the 2013/14 season.
